A VERY SPECIAL DAY FOR THE BLIND CHILDREN

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

On Saturday, September 14, children of the ‘Fondation des Aveugles du Québec’ Greater Montreal, spent a memorable day at the Saint-Jean Garrison with members of the Military Police (MP).  The organizing committee of the event was honour by the presence of Major Renée Point, CO of 5th MP Regt.  To quote Major Point addressing all participants: « Blind children are the cause we all cherish and support in the Military police (MP) Branch.  Today, we finally meet with children who benefit from our support and donations raised throughout these years. ».  During this «custom» Special Olympic Games, the youth were able to socialize with a sponsor member of the MPs, an experience allowed everyone to enjoy the moment and rediscover the true meaning of self-sacrifice and mutual aid.  It should be noted that a surprise visit of Cpl Thunder, 5th  MP Regt, official mascot, who gave his usual hugs to his new admirers.  Finally, our kids did not leave empty-handed as they were awarded a «MP Hero» teddy bear for their well appreciated presence and participation in this activity day that will be remember for a long time.
