On 11 Sep 14, 1 Military Police Regiment (1 MP Regt), in its ongoing commitment to support the efforts of the Military Police Fund for Blind Children (MPFBC), facilitated a tour of 3 Canadian Division Support Group (CDSG) Edmonton for Andy Tan, a local and deserving visually-impaired teenager from St. Edmund’s Elementary/Junior High School, Edmonton, AB. Thanks to the generous support provided by 1 MP Regt, 3 CDSG Edmonton, the LdSH(RC), and 1 PPCLI, Andy, who has an insatiable interest in history and all things relating to the military, was able to enjoy an exciting day with a number of local soldiers and Military Police members. Amongst the many highlights of the tour, both Andy and his teacher-aid, Linda Stainton, were given a first-hand introduction to a Military Police patrol vehicle, a MK II Leopard Tank, a LAV III armoured fighting vehicle, and 3 CDSB Edmonton’s state-of-the-art interactive indoor small arms training range. Andy and Linda were greatly impressed with the generosity shown to them by the units and are appreciative for this opportunity to interact with, and learn more about, both the Military Police and Canadian Armed Forces.
