Military Police Unit Esquimalt

On April 12th, 2015, Military Police Unit Esquimalt (MPU Esquimalt) hosted its annual car wash and barbeque in support of the Military Police Fund for Blind Child (MPFBC) at the Canex Express Mart in Belmont Park. Members of MPU Esquimalt and Canex staff were on hand to wash cars and serve up food to the residents of Belmont Park during, what turned out to be, another successful event in support of the MPFBC. New additions to this year’s event included a Child Identification Booth, where kids of all ages learned how to take their own fingerprints. There was also entertainment from a magician which was a very popular attraction. This event has become a staple of the spring and summer months in Belmont Park, and has helped to raise awareness, funding, and support for the MPFBC which provides support services and equipment to visually impaired children from across Canada. For those wishing to donate, apply for funding or simply learn more about the MPFBC, please feel free to visit the website at or contact Cpl Mackay, the local area representative, at 250-363--4032. MPU Esquimalt would like to thank the Canex Express Mart staff for volunteering their time and supplies in support of this event over the past several years.
